How to limit to one membership per member
Have you ever had a customer accidentally purchase 2 memberships? Or an existing member purchase a new membership to take advantage of your free trial? You can now prevent both these issues by enabling the the "Limit One Membership" feature on the Settings tab of your membership.
- Quantity errors: Customers cannot purchase multiple quantities of the same membership, whether it is the same item or different tiers.
- Duplicate membership errors: If a customer already has a membership associated with the email address they are using for checkout, they cannot purchase another membership of the same kind. This applies even if their existing membership has lapsed.
The text of the errors can be modified in the Settings area as shown in the screenshot below:
The way this feature works is through "Checkout Rules". Our app automatically enables the rule when the feature is turned On (and disables it when turned Off). Technically, you are able to add this rule. However, the rule won't run properly unless it has the correct metafields, which are added when the Settings in the membership are saved.
If you are encountering issues, you can temporarily disable the Limit-One Membership feature from your Checkout Settings within Conjured Memberships. After that, you may contact our support team and share the function logs.
You can easily share your function logs with our support team. Here's how:
- Go to Settings > Apps and sales channels.
- Select Conjured Memberships.
- Scroll down to the Share function logs area and follow the instructions.
